Start with the community
We work closely with the communities we serve and take time to understand local needs, challenges and opportunities before deciding where support can make the greatest difference.
About SHINE NGO
SHINE Educational and Welfare Society works with communities to create better opportunities through education, welfare initiatives, awareness and practical support.

Community first
Working alongside the people we serve

Who We Are
SHINE Educational and Welfare Society is a not-for-profit organisation based in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Its work grew from a desire to encourage education, provide support where it is needed and contribute towards a better society.
Education remains at the heart of SHINE's work, particularly in rural communities. The organisation has developed Education Hut centres and provides learning, tuition, educational materials and community activities for children.
Alongside education, SHINE has also worked on awareness, healthcare-related initiatives, humanitarian support, women's upliftment and assistance for people and families facing difficult circumstances.
Our mission
We work to make education, support and opportunity more accessible to people and communities that need them most.
Create meaningful learning opportunities, particularly for children in rural communities.
Support inclusion, women's upliftment and greater opportunity for people facing disadvantage.
Offer practical assistance, awareness and relief when individuals and communities face difficult times.
Our vision
SHINE's long-term vision is rooted in reducing educational disadvantage and creating channels through which support can reach people who need it.
We believe meaningful progress happens when people contribute what they can — knowledge, time, resources, care and action.

Our Approach
Good intentions are only the beginning. At SHINE NGO, we believe meaningful change comes from understanding communities, working alongside people and turning shared ideas into practical action.
Our approach is grounded in participation, practical support and continuous learning. This helps us respond to real needs while building stronger connections between communities, volunteers and partners.
We work closely with the communities we serve and take time to understand local needs, challenges and opportunities before deciding where support can make the greatest difference.
Volunteers, donors, families, educators, partners and local communities all have a role to play. We believe meaningful change becomes stronger when people work together toward a shared purpose.
From educational materials and learning opportunities to awareness, healthcare and humanitarian initiatives, we focus on support that responds to real situations and creates useful opportunities.
Community needs continue to evolve. We learn from every initiative, listen to feedback and adapt our approach so that our efforts remain relevant, responsible and meaningful.
What guides us
Every initiative begins with a need and grows through collective effort. By keeping communities at the center of our work, we aim to make our support practical, inclusive and capable of creating opportunities that continue beyond a single initiative.
What we do
Our initiatives respond to different needs while remaining rooted in the same belief: people and communities should have the opportunity to move forward.
